In 2005 there were 24 fatal airplane accidents worldwide in which approximately 760 passengers lost their lives. In addition to these air disasters, there are also other emergency situations for which an airline company must be able to set up a crisis response organization. One example of such a scenario would be if a passenger or crewmember on a particular flight were to exhibit symptoms of SARS or cholera. KLM uses the Communicator notification system to staff its crisis centre in a structured and efficient manner.

Florida's Hollywood Police Department is using Communicator to alert residents of sexual predators. The City of Hollywood Police Department is taking sexual predator notification and follow-up very seriously. If a Sexual Predator or Offender moves into the City of Hollywood, they will be contacted by a Hollywood Police Detective immediately, and routine follow-up visits will be conducted by our Neighborhood Team Leaders (the Police Officers that are assigned to specific neighborhoods throughout the city). The Hollywood Police Department maintains contact with the Sexual Predators and Offenders as long as they reside within the City limits. The Police Department recently received a grant from Dialogic Communications Corporation that allows the Department to telephonically notify residents or businesses when a predator or offender takes up residence.

ST. PETERSBURG - If Hurricane Wilma had rushed north and forced evacuations in St. Petersburg, a new emergency notification system would have been used to get residents moving. Called Communicator! NXT, the Internet-based system can make 2,000 connections per minute compared with 500 to 800 calls per hour under the old telephone-based approach, police say.
